How is walling stone made?


Producing high quality natural stone walling is a highly skilled job. Below are the steps involved in producing walling stone.

Quarry bed

Step 1

The stone is excavated from deep in the quarry.

Step 2

Natural stone blocks are individually picked for processing to optimise the quality and yield for each specific masonry project.

Step 3

The stone is then transported to our yard at Southowram, Halifax for primary sawing.

Step 4

The stone is cut again into manageable pieces (secondary cut).

Step 5

The sawn slab is now ready for the next process.

Step 6

This is now squared by hand by our experienced stone dressers.

Step 7

The walling stones are then palletised on to 6mtr pallets.

Step 8

The finished walling is now ready for collection or delivery.
