At Whitehall Stone Sales we sell many different types and styles of new paving stones, but primarily focus on Riven Paving and Sawn Paving.
Riven Paving stones have a more natural, rustic finish and come in a variety of thicknesses which means they have to be laid carefully to ensure an even and neat finish.
Sawn Paving stones, also known as calibrated paving stones, are cut from quarried stone and of a uniform thickness and finish. They’re much easier and quicker to lay than riven paving, but are more expensive as a result.
Sawn Paving might be used for public or leisure spaces such as swimming pools, busy walkways, patios or pavements, whereas Riven Paving is often used for more traditional country home driveways or yards where a smooth polished finish isn’t essential.
